Email #55: AoM Launches Book Drive Across Chicago! (2/17/17)

Last week we mentioned several Super Bowl participants doing great things off the field. One of those we singled out, Patriots rookie receiver Malcolm Mitchell, has started receiving national attention for his efforts on behalf of youth literacy. AoM applauds Malcolm’s work, which is so important given the educational obstacles facing so many of America’s…

1,500 people took part in the Audi Best Buddies Challenge: Hyannis Port, presented by Country Kitchen, a 100-mile cycling fundraiser from Boston to Cape Cod, on Saturday, June 5. The Challenge, which was chaired by New England Patriots Tom Brady, raised a record $4.2 million in total donations for Best Buddies International, a nonprofit that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
This year's Challenge kicked-off with a brand-new event, the Tom Brady Flag Football & Celebrity Sous Chef Barbeque at Harvard Stadium on Friday, June 4.

Here’s a story from CUNY’s website that illustrates the value of this program: “Jesus Benitez…

This was a void I believed could and would soon be filled by leaders and visionaries from the tech industry, not by politicians. The following is a passage from that piece: “Leadership – the quality…

Resolve (noun): firm determination to do something  -Merriam-Webster At the beginning of each new year, we make resolutions. To work out more. To eat healthier. To quit smoking. To call our parents more often. Bold, year-long commitments to improve ourselves. Do we mean these resolutions? Absolutely – at least at the time. Do we stick…

Email #48: Happy Holidays from Art of Men! (12/16/16)

As the holiday season approaches, we encourage our readers to remember those less fortunate not only during Christmas and Chanukah but in the days and weeks that follow. Many of our food pantries, soup kitchens and shelters are inundated with volunteers in December, when the spirit of giving is part of a national discussion. In…

Email #46: “We Have Common Ground” (12/2/16)

“This land is your land, this land is my land. From the California to the New York Island. From the Redwood Forest, to the Gulf stream waters. This land was made for you and me.” _______________________________________________________ Woody Gurthrie wrote that lyric in 1956. The sentiment has never been more relevant to us at Art of Men….
